All aboard for Seattle! Subject to final approval by Amtrak, our entire Silver Fleet will be leaving Southern California to a new owner on a the first leg of a positioning move from Los Angeles to Chicago, via Seattle. We can accommodate up to 24 overnight guests in Roomettes, Double Bedrooms, a Drawing Room and a Stateroom. We will have accommodations for day riders as well.
We will depart Los Angeles on Amtrak’s Coast Starlight at 10:10 AM Sept 7, and arrive Seattle at 7:56 PM Sept 8. On arrival Seattle, guests who bought sleeping accommodations are welcome to stay aboard that night.
All meals will be prepared on board by our chefs from fresh ingredients. A late night selection of hors d'Oeuvres and dessert will be offered on departure from Oakland. On the second day meals will include breakfast, luncheon, mid-afternoon hors d'Oeuvres and dinner prior to our arrival in Seattle.
Our bars, which feature complimentary premium labels of beer, wine, and spirits, will be open until midnight the first night.

Silver Solarium is equipped with the following:
Double Bedroom: 1 or 2 persons. Upper and lower berths. Upper berth is the same size as the lower, with lots of headroom for those wishing to sit up and read. Double bedrooms have an enclosed annex with toilet and sink; some also have a hand-held shower. Lighted closet for hanging garments; overhead storage for luggage.
Drawing Room: Up to 3 persons. Two lower berths and one upper berth, same size as lowers. Sofa and folding chair for day use. Larger annex with toilet, sink, and fixed-head shower. Larger closet for hanging garments. Overhead luggage storage.
Stateroom: Located under the dome, added on by previous owner. One or two persons. Booth seating folds to become a standard double (full) bed. Large closet for luggage storage. Annex with toilet, sink, and shower.
Bedroom on Suite: Some of our double bedrooms have a folding partition wall, which can be opened to reveal a very spacious room that accommodates up to 4 persons. This is popular with couples who both prefer lower berths. An added bonus is each has their own bathroom.
Silver Rapids is equipped with the following:
Roomettes: 1 person. Sofa-style chair provide day seating; Murphy bed folds down for overnight comfort. Sink with hot and cold running water in each roomette. Lots of luggage storage overhead. Closet for hanging garments. Restrooms are just a few steps down the hall.
Double Bedroom: 1 or 2 persons. Upper and lower berths. Upper berth is the same size as the lower, with lots of headroom for those wishing to sit up and read. Double bedrooms have an enclosed annex with toilet and sink; . Lighted closet for hanging garments; overhead storage for luggage.

Amenities: All rooms have white cotton terry bathrobes; individual bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner, white cotton terry washcloths and bath towels; starched and folded huck hand towels. Silver Rapids is equipped with a large shower/changing room for use by all guests.
Silver Lariat has 24 dome seats at tables and another 36 seats at tables downstairs.
Silver Peak, our baggage car, is a working car and will be open for guided viewing only. The baggage doors will remain closed on route. It does, however, have a vestibule with dutch doors.
This trip will be limited to 48 passengers, including Day Riders. Meals will be served in Silver Lariat. All guests will have a dome seat available to them, except possibly at meal hours.

Guests will have ample space to enjoy the passing scenery, with 48 dome seats available, and reclining chairs in Silver Lariat available to day riders who want to stretch out. Day riders do not have access to bedrooms in either car, but otherwise enjoy all privileges afforded our overnight passengers.

NOTE: On Sept 10, the cars will continue east on the Empire Builder, arriving Chicago Sept 12. Some accommodations on that segment may be available, but we will not know for a few weeks. Save the date! We will post here if accommodations become available.
The two dome cars will make their final trips under CZRC on the Joliet Rocket trains, pulled by the NKP 765, in Chicago Sept 15-16. Check the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society website (www.fortwaynerailroad.org) for tickets and availability.
